Adding Map Legends

You can add map legends to list the colors/lines used on the map and help users to understand the meaning of what the map represents. The Point & Label dialog opens when you click legend.

To add a map legend
  1. Clicklegend.
  2. The Legend is added to the Point, Lines and Custom Region List.

To edit the map legend
  1. Click Edit point for the legend you want to edit. The Edit Legend dialog opens.

  1. You can:
    • Assign Category ID.
    • Change the Legend Names.
    • Change the Background/Border color Click the color and select a color from the Color Picker.
    • Set Margin, Spacing, Columns, Opacity.
    • Select Orientation.
    • Choose legend type, either Rectangle or Line.
    • Define the Size of the legend key.
    • Change the Background/Border color. Click the color and select a color from the Color Picker.
    • Define the Size of the legend key/text.
    • Change the color of Legend Text. Click the color and select a color from the Color Picker.
    • Change the legend color. Click the color and select a color from the Color Picker.
    • Move the legend up and down. Add or delete legend when necessary.
  1. Click OK to apply the settings.

To delete a legend
  1. Click Delete point for the legend you want to delete. The legend will be deleted.
