Data linking

We want to use IMap as our soil investigation database, so for each
location point on the map we should be able to click on the point so it
pops up a .pdf file or a picture or even a link/folder pre-saved in our
internal servers.
Do you think it would be possible using IMap to do all theses? and which
catehory you propose? Windows version or online versions?

It would depend on how the locations are pinpointed. If they are all based
on longitude/latitude values or by address, we would suggest using the
Google Map Editor from iMapBuilder Online. The editor itself allows linking
of an online PDF or image files, provided that they are all accessible on
your server.
