Is there anyway to make the shaded region around state maps bigger to place more labels? I'm using just the online map creator for states showing where my company operates. When you want to make a label you can only place it in the shaded area around the map that appears when you click on add a new label. On some states this area is SO SMALL! Is there anyway to make it bigger so I can place more labels?? Please Help!!

Do you mean some regions are too small, not enough space to place label within them?

If so, for U.S. you may consider the template "United States with State Abbreviations".

This one:

For other templates, you may add lines to point small region and place text labels in empty area.

No, I mean for individual states. Say Georgia for example: I need to post a number of region squares and labels to identify companies, but there is not enough room around the map to do so.

You may consider the following way to have better display:
1. switch on "click to zoom" in map properties

2. add points first, then put you text in Mouse Over Action's tooltips

I don't want to use points. I don't want there to be any points or words on the actual map. I want the labels to be outside the map like a legend. How do you make the OUTSIDE of the map bigger to do this?

It would need some tricks / customized page layout to achieve your requirement.

Tricks:
1. set the map wider (not in ratio) to create space on both sides---say like set the map width from 450 to 750
2. use the following map title to create space at top/ bottom: (if neccessary)
</u><font size="100"> </font>
3. set map background opacity to 0%

(You will still find the map has limited space to put lines/ labels on this stage)
4. draw your lines partially first
5. prepare a background image to extend those lines
6. write addtional CSS style on your webpage to place the map and background image properly

Here is the example:

(But zoom / drag would realize the trick )

We can offer the service to setup it for the first time and prepare the background image.
You may let us know the detail if you are interested, we will estimate the possibility & cost.
