ZIP code map colored using Excel imported data

I'm looking for a mapping solution based on zip codes. Basically what I am
looking to do is have a spreadsheet that documents a category (such as a
favorite color) in the first column [Favorite Color] and zip code in the
second column [Zip Code]. I then want to populate a map with the
corresponding color using the zip codes. I can create the spreadsheet based
on voting, but I would like to know if you have any solutions on the
mapping side, where I could convert this data into a colored map. Greater
interactivity would be nice, but isn't necessarily required. Also, the map
will need to be embedded as HTML code for a website. Do you have any
ideas?
