Crowdsourcing mapping project

We're trying to develop an interactive map where users can input their
ideas of station placement on our website. If we could limit the choices in
some way that would be great.

We need to then be able to collect and map the data for our own purposes. A
resulting KML file should be fine or whatever else you think accomplishes
this best.

Is this an application that can do that? We do have some developers here
but we might also be interested in code help for expediency.

It is possible to create a crowdsourcing map as a custom mapping project. This would involve creating a map system based on Google Maps, and allow users to place markers to denote potential station placements. It is also possible to limit the choices by your requirements, and export the data to a KML file. The resulting data would be stored in a database and you can specify the way to analyze them.

After you have logged in, choose Custom Google Map from the Start screen and select your map starting location. Then you can start making your crowdsourced map by following this guide.
