Add category legend to a map project


 
Category Legend

A category legend is the little box at the corner of the map, which lists the category of Points / Lines / Texts / Images / Legends / Custom Regions used on the map, filtering your Points / Lines / Texts / Images / Legends / Custom Regions and help users to understand the distribution of individual category of your Points / Lines / Texts / Images / Legends / Custom Regions.

Adding Category legend to flash map
  1. To add category legend, you can click on the Category Legend Icon icon at the top.
     
  2. The window of adding category legend will be appeared. There are few options to be selected/ input.

    Define the category legend layout    :

    Category Legend    : Turn On and Turn Off this funtion. When it turns on, a list of this category legend will be display in the map.

    Legend Layout: Background color, Opacity, Border, Margin, Spacing, and Columns of the Legend can be modified.

    Legend Text Setting: Text color and size can be set.

    Anchor: Set the position of this category legend in the map.


    Setting the category legend items:

    ID: The number for each category.

    Category Name: Can be input different name in each category.

    Visible: the category will be shown in the legend list when check. Vice versa.

    Check: the Points / Lines / Texts / Images / Legends / Custom Regions in the category will be shown as default check when you have checked in this setting. Vice versa.

    Items Count: Display the item quantity in each category.


  3. After the setting of category legend. Category ID should be assigned as well.

    Click " Points, Lines & Texts" at the top bar.

    Select items of your Points / Lines / Texts / Images / Legends / Custom Regions. Filtering them by different category ID.

  4. Then the category legend is done.
