Import Locations onto Your Map

If you have a large batch of locations to import, iMapBuilder provides different function in the software and on the online editor to plot all the locations onto your interactive map. You can create maps to display clients, stores, banks, real estates and more.

Here are some common scenarios when you import locations:


Import addresses or ZIP code/postcode values from Excel file

Geocoding is required if your locations are addresses or ZIP code/postcode values. iMapBuilder Online includes geocoding functions from Google Maps. Import longitude and latitude values from Excel file

It is possible to plot your locations directly on supported maps, depending on the software or online editor you are using.

iMapBuilder for Windows

Map templates with longitude and latitude support (template name that ends with geo) allows pinpointing by longitude and latitude values. Use the Bulk Input/Import Data function to insert your locations from Excel file. You can find steps and screenshots here.

Import from other data format or dynamically from database

If your locations are stored in a different format than Excel files, export your data into an Excel or CSV file, then try importing again. This usually happens if your location data comes from CRMs.

We can help inspecting your data to see if they fit the software, or create custom made system to read in data from your required format. We can even connect to your database or API to capture the data in regular intervals, so your map will be constantly updated.
