Add and Manage Rectangles
Create and manage rectangles and squares on your map. If you want to create other shapes, you may consider following our Add and Manage Polygons guide.
Add rectangles

- Make sure that you are in Edit Mode. Click the Edit Mode button below the horizontal toolbar if you are not.
- Click the Add Rectangles button on the vertical toolbar.
- Click on the map to start drawing the shape. Right click on the map if you have done creating the shape.
Resize and move a rectangle
- You can change the shape, size and position of the shape in the following ways.
- Click the Select button on the vertical toolbar, and choose the shape you want to change.
- Expand the Rectangles Panel to the right hand side and select the shape from the list.
- Anchor points are shown at all the four corners of the rectangle. You can drag the corner anchor points to adjust the orientation and length of each side of your shape, or drag the center of the rectangle to the desired position.
Rectangle properties
You can change the properties of each shape in the following ways.
- Click the Select button on the vertical toolbar, and choose the shape you want to change.
- Expand the Rectangles Panel to the right hand side and select the shape from the list.
Here is the complete list of Rectangle Properties.
Properties | Description |

Category ID | Assign the shape to a category. |
Name | Name of the rectangle. The name will be shown in the List of Rectangles under the Rectangles Panel. |
Fill | |
Color | Change the color of the shape in its normal state from the color palette. |
Highlight | |
Color | Change the color of the shape in its highlighted state from the color palette. |
Stroke | |
Color | Change the border color of the shape from the color palette. |
Width | Change the border thickness of the shape from the drop down menu. |
Style | Change to solid or dashed lines for the border of the shape from the drop down menu. |
Action | |
Link to Web Address | Set the URL of the shape so that it would open the link when it is clicked. Enter your desired web address in the first box, and choose the target of the link in the second drop down menu. Here are the options:

Show infobox | Enter the content you want to display upon hovering the rectangle by the mouse pointer. Our infobox supports HTML content, so you can add formatted text, images, audios, videos and even forms to the infobox. Please ensure that your content is well-formed and syntactically correct to avoid any formatting or display issues.
If you are not familiar with coding, you could add infobox content using Rich Text Editor.
