Region Properties in Data Grid

The Data Grid displays region properties of every region in a grid or table. This provides a quick and focused way to edit region properties in batch without repetitive navigation and selections in the software. The Data Grid also provides ways to export the data for further edits, or import edited data back onto the map.

Open the Data Grid

You can open the Data Grid in the software by these ways.

  • Select Edit > Edit Region Properties in Data Grid on the menu bar.

  • Click the More Options button on the Region Panel and select Edit Region Properties in Data Grid.

Edit regional properties in Data Grid

Here is the complete list of properties you can edit through Data Grid. Some columns include extra functions that can be applied to all regions on the map. Right click on one of the cells of those columns and select the function from the context menu.

Properties Description
Title/Abbreviation The name or abbreviation of the region shown in Regions Abbreviation or Regions Tooltip.
Normal Color The normal color of the region. It is represented by a RGB hex code.
Context Menu Options:
  • Change Color: Choose the color in case you do not know RGB hex code.
  • Apply to All: Apply it to all regions.
  • Apply to Group: Apply it to the regions in the same group. You have to enable Group Highlighting and assign group ID to the desired regions for this to work.
Highlight Color The highlight color of the region. It is represented by a RGB hex code.
Context Menu Options:
  • Change Color: Choose the color in case you do not know RGB hex code.
  • Apply to All: Apply it to all regions.
  • Apply to Group: Apply it to the regions in the same group. You have to enable Group Highlighting and assign group ID to the desired regions for this to work.
Infobox Enter the content you want to display upon hovering of the region by the mouse pointer. Our infobox supports HTML content, so you can add formatted text, images, audios, videos and even forms to the infobox. Please ensure that your content is well-formed and syntactically correct to avoid any formatting or display issues.
Context Menu Options:
  • Apply to All: Apply the same content to all regions.
  • Apply to Group: Apply the same content to the regions in the same group. You have to enable Group Highlighting and assign group ID to the desired regions for this to work.
Link to Web Address Set the URL of the region so that it would open the link when it is clicked. You may also set the Link Target in the next column to open the link.
Context Menu Options:
  • Apply to All: Apply the same link to all regions.
  • Apply to Group: Apply the same link to the regions in the same group. You have to enable Group Highlighting and assign group ID to the desired regions for this to work.
Link Target Set the target window or frame to open the link. This is used in conjunction with the Link to Web Address in the previous column.
Context Menu Options:
  • New Window (_blank)
  • Same Frame (_self)
  • Parent Frame (_parent)
  • Root Frame (_top)
  • Apply to All: Apply the same link target to all regions.
  • Apply to Group: Apply the same link target to the regions in the same group. You have to enable Group Highlighting and assign group ID to the desired regions for this to work.
Group ID You can assign map regions with the same ID and they will be highlighted together upon mouse hovering. You have to enable this feature for this to work. Enter 0 (zero) if you want to disable group highlighting for the region. Please refer to our Group Highlighting article for details.
Context Menu Options:
  • Reset all to zero: Reset all IDs to zero to disable group highlighting for all regions.
  • Apply to All: Apply the same ID to all regions.
  • Apply to Group: Apply the same ID to the regions in the same group.
Heat Map Data Enter the heat map data value of the region. You have to enable this feature for this to work. Please refer to our Heat Map article to enable and create a heat map.
Context Menu Options:
  • Reset all to zero: Reset all data values to zero.
  • Copy Value from Bubble Chart Data: Copy data values from the Bubble Chart Data column on the same row.
  • Apply to All: Apply the same data to all regions.
  • Apply to Group: Apply the same data to the regions in the same group. You have to enable Group Highlighting and assign group ID to the desired regions for this to work.
Bubble Chart Data Enter the bubble chart data value to create bubble chart over the region. You have to enable this feature for this to work. Please refer to our Bubble Chart article to enable and add bubble charts.
Context Menu Options:
  • Reset all to zero: Reset all data values to zero.
  • Copy Value from Heat Map Data: Copy data values from the Heat Map Data column on the same row.
  • Apply to All: Apply the same data to all regions.
  • Apply to Group: Apply the same data to the regions in the same group. You have to enable Group Highlighting and assign group ID to the desired regions for this to work.
Disable Heat Map Tick the checkbox to disable heat map pattern for some or all regions on the map. You have to enable this feature for this to work. Please refer to our Heat Map article to enable and create a heat map.
Context Menu Options:
  • Apply to All: Disable heat map pattern on all regions.
  • Apply to Group: Disable heat map pattern for regions in the same group. You have to enable Group Highlighting and assign group ID to the desired regions for this to work.
